Introduction:
We are the Lawst Dogz, a Rock and Blues group based in Galveston, TX. We are a professional, energetic group comprised of seasoned musicians with extensive performance experience. Lawst Dogz provides high quality entertainment to audiences and venues all over the Galveston Bay area.
The band:
Lawst Dogz is a five-piece group consisting of rhythm and lead guitars (Dave Watson/Bud Rupprath) drums (Tracy "machine gun" Small) bass (Harry Hayes) and lead vocals (Michael Miller). Rich backing vocals are also provided by the guitarists, both talented singers in their own right.
History:
Lawst Dogz was formed in 2004 from the remnants of several successful groups, TP & the Emergency, Somebody's Children, and His Boy Elroy. We've really found our groove with this combination and it shows in our performance. We enjoy what we do and have a great time in front of an audience. Contrary to popular belief, the band was NOT formed in the Texas prison system.
Equipment:
Lawst Dogz has more than enough quality equipment to perform almost any venue, including outdoors. The list is extensive, but we use Fender and Gibson guitars and Fender and Marshall amps to amplify those guitars. This combination gives us a range of tones to accurately reproduce everything from vintage sounding "oldies" to the most modern current top 40 hits. The bass guitar is amplified by a powerful Crate bass rig, providing tones from Funk to Country. Awesome drum tones come via a beautiful vintage Gretch drum set. Our PA system is versatile and can be adapted to almost any room or situation. We can easily provide anything from a basic 2 speaker setup all the way to a complete tri-amped system with separately powered subs, mids and highs for mains and monitors. If your venue has a system already installed we are happy to use what is provided.
The Music:
Lawst Dogz has an extensive list of old and new rock and blues. However, our list is not limited to just Rock and Blues.
